I Cosmetics offriranno una vasta gamma di modifiche in Ceneri della creazione.[2]

Artistic style

Ceneri della creazione will have a higher graphical fidelity than most western games. It will not be too stylized or "cartoony".[3]

We can push the limits a little bit on the graphical fidelity, especially using Unreal Engine 4... My desire was not to see very cartoony games. I'm not a big fan of highly stylized art.[3]Steven Sharif

NPC variants

There will be variants of the monthly cosmetics for NPCs and Mobs.[5][6]

We've mentioned this before about what the cosmetics do, but all of those [pre-order pack] items allow us to create the world. They're the NPCs in the world. They help us make NPC variants. The clothing and costumes are costumes that we'll be putting on NPCs. You're actually helping us create the world.[7]Margaret Krohn

Obtaining cosmetics

Some cosmetics can be obtained in-game:[8]

Successi may unlock some cosmetics.[8]

Not all cosmetics are obtainable through in-game means. These will be purchasable through the cosmetic store.[8]

Cash shop cosmetics will be limited in quantity, limited in time for purchase. They will be unique, but you will also have extremely difficult to gain cosmetics in game as well as unique cosmetics that look great and better... There will be a lot of cosmetics that are achievable in the game because that is a very fun aspect of MMO play.[9]Steven Sharif

Negozio di cosmetici

Ceneri della creazione cosmetic store.[10]

There is going to be legendary cosmetics that can be earned and achieved in the game through the game systems, but that's going to take a significant amount of effort and work; and those cosmetics are going to be on-par with the cosmetics offered in the marketplace... What that does is it provides additional revenue to the company so that we can continue to fund the development of content as well and bridge the divide that not having a box cost would have and not having any pay-to-win mechanics whatsoever.[11]Steven Sharif

The Negozio di cosmetici enables players to purchase Cosmetics for use in Ceneri della creazione.[8] The cosmetic store offers limited time, limited quantity items to help sustain game development.[12]

  • Equitable cosmetics, both from a quantity and quality standpoint, are achievable through in-game means.[12]
  • Nothing in the cosmetic store will be pay to win.[13]

Nothing in our shop will ever be pay to win as we believe this practice greatly hurts the MMORPG genre.[13]

  • Cash shop cosmetics will offer a diverse selection of unique looks.[14]

I want to incentivize purchase in the cosmetic shop for sustainability of what expansions we have intended, since we are not a box cost. I want to incentivize purchase by offering limited items: limited time, limited quantity, so you have confidence that when you purchase them, they won't be offered later on in some other way.[12]Steven Sharif

  • All cosmetic store items will be non-tradeable.[15] There will be no gifting mechanism for cosmetic items.[16]

I don't want cosmetic items that can be purchased from the market to be transferable... because it is in a way a transfer of money for potentially something in-game.[16]Steven Sharif

Pre-order packs

The Coliseum's Favored pre-order packs.[17]

A timeless tradition among the Ren'Kai, arena combat is a spectacle to behold, with each warrior's skill and heart laid bare for all to see. Being a central aspect of their culture, many attendees watch these pitched battles for entertainment, while others study them in order to better their own styles. Regardless, all Ren'Kai know how to fight at some level - and success in the games is always met with respect, and oftentimes, more challengers.[17]

Pre-order packs are available from the Negozio di cosmetici.[10]

We offer cosmetics for players who wish to support the project early. The exclusive nature of the limited availability is something I think collectors value. If you buy cosmetics as an MMO player, I know I enjoyed if the cosmetic is rare and not every girl at the party is wearing the same dress. In addition, these cosmetics are used to populate the world through NPC variants and color/texture changes so their offering aligns with our production schedule. The good thing about these packs is they contain no P2W advantages and there is no box cost, so from a mechanics standpoint you do not need to buy them to excel in the game on launch. And also, there are comparable and subjectively more grand cosmetics achievable in game as well.[6]Steven Sharif

Cosmetic binding

All cosmetic store items will be non-tradeable.[15]

Pay to win

Ceneri della creazione will not be pay to win.[20][11][21]

Ashes of Creation will not be pay to win, that is our pledge to the community. One of the core principles we set forth with Ashes of Creation is a very strong desire to maintain the game's even playing field.[21]

A lot of developers and companies have come along in the past- and I've been hit by this too- and they've said we're not going to have pay-to-win and then boom they roll out some pay-to-win. We have consistently said we won't be pay-to-win and in the pre-orders that we provide and even in the Kickstarter there were absolutely zero pay-to-win components whatsoever. So not only will we talk the talk but we will walk the walk as well.[11]Steven Sharif

Because we are a non-box purchase game, meaning there is no box price to play Ashes of Creation, it is only a subscription; and that's beneficial because it reduces the barrier of entry and we want a high population obviously; but at the same time one of the ways we augment the revenue flows to sustain constant updates and new chapter releases and additional content within the game is through a cosmetic-only marketplace; and that means absolutely no pay-to-win whatsoever; and that will be adhered to forever.[20]Steven Sharif

Inventario slots, RNG loot boxes and XP potions are considered pay-to-win.[22][23][24][25]

We will not use a loot box system for cosmetics either. We currently have a cosmetic store that offers limited time, limited quantity items to help sustain game development. These items are purely decorative and do not offer any in-game benefits.[22]

My definition of pay-to-win is really anything that affects the in-game economy, the in-game action pool, your abilities and/or skills... In my opinion the inventory slots and the XP potions would be considered pay-to-win.[24]Steven Sharif

Q: Will there be RNG boxes?
A: I dislike RNG. Archeage made me loath rng monetization gimmicks.[25]Steven Sharif

Transferring cosmetics between alts

Ceneri della creazione web site design preview (WIP).[29]

Cosmetics can be reassigned to other characters (alts) within an account but can only be active on one character at a time.[18][30][31]

  • There will likely be a cooldown for reassigning cosmetics between characters.[18]

Cinderhorn Steer pre-order pack cosmetic mount skin.[33]

Providing these limited options that collectors out there like when it comes to achieving and/or purchasing cosmetics. It means something I think when players make that decision to purchase or they go through the rigorous portion of achieving those things in game that it is not just everywhere around them and becomes meaningless at that point.[20]Steven Sharif

Pets, Monta, Costumes, Armatura, Buildings and Accessories sold in the cosmetic store are skins.[34]

The best skins will be in-game achievable (obviously “best” is subjective, so I’d say the most ornate and detailed/unique).[41]Steven Sharif

Racial skins

Racial skins enable a player to change their character's racial appearance.[42][43]

  • Racial skins transform the race of the character to that skin. The original racial appearance of the character is entirely replaced.[44]
  • Racial skins can be toggled on and off.[43]

You're changing your race over to that, which means that you won't look uniquely different if you were a Vek angel or a Human angel.[44]Steven Sharif

Racial skins are not costumes. This means that armor and character customization is possible on these.[45]

  • Skin color customization.[46]
  • Racial skins appear along with any costume appearances.[47]

There are plans to create other racial skins.[48]

  • Some potential future ideas include undead and werewolf (lycan) skins.[49]

Freehold building skins

Themed freehold skins were offered as Kickstarter and Estate crowdfunding rewards and are sold through the cosmetic store.[50][51]

Caravan skins

Caravan skins ("Pimp my caravan") are available in the cash shop (cosmetic store).[52]

  • The skin changes the appearance of an in-game mount and in-game caravan that are hooked up to each other.[39][40]
  • The caravan and mount components of the skin are not able to be utilized separately.[39][40]

You'll need your own creature and caravan hooked up to each other, and then the caravan cosmetic skin goes over all of them to make it look like what's pictured. you're not able to split out separately that caravan mount skin, hence why you'd want the separate mount skin if you wanted to ride it independently.[39]Sarah Flanagan

Ship skins

Ship skins apply to certain ship types.[53]

Mount skins

Rare mount that can only be obtained via breeding two tamable creatures through the animal husbandry profession.[54]

Similar in looks to his scalerunning counterpart, this rare animal husbandry mount is only possible to achieve through breading two tameable creatures elusive in the lands of Verra.[54]Steven Sharif

Monta are obtained through an early quest that is available to players in starting areas.[31]

We kind of want mounts to be ubiquitous for people.[64]Peter Pilone

There are going to be classes of mounts; and you will be able to achieve skins in the game or you will be able to achieve different types of those classes and summon them.[62]Steven Sharif

Pet skins

Cosmetic pets are available for purchase from the cosmetic store.[34]

Guild hall skins

Vestments of the Runecarvers pre-order pack cosmetic costume.[65]

The costume cosmetics that are included in each month's pre-order set are indeed a full piece, and when you put it on it will cover your entire appearance. You will not be able to mix and match/toggle those pieces individually (other than your helmet) when you're wearing the entire costume. This is partially why there is a separate category for accessories - those are able to be worn/equipped on a more individualized basis, so you can mix and match to your liking![66]Sarah Flanagan

Costumes are available for purchase from the cosmetic store.

Full costumes do not mix and match pieces.[71]Steven Sharif

The costume cosmetic does not come in pieces. It will cover your entire set.[70]Margaret Krohn

Accessory skins

Accessories are cosmetic skins purchasable from the cosmetic store.[34]

  • Accessories only cover a specific slot.[70]

Mount barding skins

Mount barding cosmetic reward for backing at the Leader of Men level.[76]

Mount barding (also referred to as Saddles) is armor for mounts in Ceneri della creazione. Mount barding is similar in concept to player armor.[77]

  • The higher the level of barding, the better looking it will be.[77]
  • Barding will have multiple components that can be equipped. Each component will increase the stats of the mount, such as hit points and speed.[78][77]
  • Barding cosmetics can only be applied to mounts with barding cosmetic slots.[79]
  • Cosmetic skins may only be applied to barding/saddle items that are earned in-game.[80]
    • Barding skins' appearance may differ depending on the type of mount.[79]

Housing decorations

Housing decorations are available for purchase from the cosmetic store.

Backer only armor skin

All Kickstarter backers receive a unique armor skin set.[81]

Armor appearance

Alpha-1 female plate armor 3D render.[82]

We want to be realistic with the application of particular types of armor, such as plate armor. In this regard for the different sexes there's a fine line that has to be drawn between accentuating the form of the sex as well as making it somewhat realistic and actually applicable to the environment.[82]Steven Sharif

Gear is intended to be realistic in appearance.[83][84]

  • There will not be "oversized" weapons.[85]
  • Armor will not be overly sexual in appearance.[84]

We're going for kind of a more realistic look; not necessarily realistic setting, but we want our characters to have weight and kind of feel like they're there.[83]Jeffrey Bard

I'm more of the mind that it wouldn't really serve a purpose to have bikini plate armor, just in like reality, if you're going to have armor, it should be protective. I think from a fashion statement is enjoyable for some people, but it's a kind of an immersive issue.[83]Steven Sharif

Armatura will take on a racial appearance.[86]

  • Cosmetics can be used by all races but there may be slight variations to make them work with the body builds of each race.[74]

Players can change gear colors using dyes.[87][88]

Helmet display can be toggled on and off.[89]

  • Hair will likely be masked if helmet display is toggled on.[90]

Particle effects are used to denote the importance and rarity of some weapons.[91]

Armi are able to be sheathed.[92]

Crafters are able to influence what their crafted items will look like.[93][94]

Appearance slots/Transmogs

Gear will have appearance slots (Transmutation/Transmog/cosmetic slots) that are used to copy the appearance of an item (in some cases).[95][96]

  • There are rules when applying cosmetics to specific items, unlike costumes, which don't have level restrictions.[67]
  • Cosmetic slots can be toggled on or off by the player.[97]
  • A "default player appearance" may be automatically applied during sieges or other large scale battles to improve client-side performance.[98][99]

Gear attachments

Attachments are able to be unlocked as flair pieces to armor to create a customizable look.[100]

  • There will be hundreds of attachments available ranging from a small clasp to the front plate of a breast plate.[100]

Items on back and belt

Backpack sockets (slots).[101]

The idea is to kind of move away from the mundane kind of application of belts in previous MMOs where they don't really have a lot of character so to speak. But in reality you know as an adventurer you come with a lot of tools and things that you have to use out in the wild in order to achieve what you're trying to achieve. So we wanted to kind of represent that on your character and give you something that can actually be tangible for your character and see there. I think it adds a lot of character and flavor to your identity.[102]Steven Sharif

Mage character with material components for spell casting attached to its belt.[103]

This belt has like my material components for spell casting so I definitely feel like I'm a witch right now.[103]Steven Sharif

Items attached to a character's back or belt represent items they are in possession of. Players can set the appearance priority for the items they wish to show.[104][105][106] Only one item can show at a time, and that is determined by player choice.[107]

A big component of the MMORPG that - half of that you know acronym is RPG role-playing game. And in order to role-play you need to be able to represent kind of what your character is doing in that world and you know part of what animation is doing is creating these sockets on the let's say the belt or the back that you know can plug in certain types of props or items that are created by the character team, like Carson, you know might be a scroll tube, it might be a potion, it might be whatever: Those players will have the ability as we've discussed in the past will have the ability to select what they want to be represented in those sockets and then animation will make sure that jibe well in movement.[101]Steven Sharif

Back slots include.[107]

Belt (hip) slots include.[104][107]

There'll be a priority system behind that that'll determine... do I show the Bow if the Greatsword is unequipped or do I show the Polearm if the Greatsword is unequipped.[106]Jeffrey Bard

Character appearance

Modular Cleric armor concept by Jeff Delierre and Keith Kovach.[88]

Dyes in Ceneri della creazione may refer to:

Dyes are craftable.[126]

Dye usage

Dyes are one-time use items that apply a cosmetic color change on certain dyeable items.[127][128]

  • Only one dye can be used per dyeable items. A player is free do use different dyes on different dyeable items.[127]

The Kickstarter dyes are sets of unique colors that are not obtainable by players who did not participate in Crowdfunding. These dyes are not usable as normal dyes are. Instead they are used to override the color of another dye obtained in game.[129]

  • They are assigned to a character from a user's account management page.
  • They do not expire, so they may be used to continually override dye colors.
  • Once a dye has been overridden it becomes a bound dye to that character, so the colors cannot be sold for in-game benefit.
  • When an item is sold or transferred, color changes are reverted.

Dyeable items

Dyes only affect tagged portions of dyeable armor or cosmetic items.[130]

Outside of wanting to keep maybe some identity from a lore perspective; for example if you have like a white lion's suit of armor, you may not want that white lion suit of armor to be black or blue. So, it's possible. It depends on the costume itself.[130]Steven Sharif

Seasonal cosmetics

There may be seasonal cosmetics in the Ashes of Creation MMORPG.[132]

Emoji adds additional flare either for chat or character representation.[123] Emoji packs were available in the Kickstarter and Estate crowdfunding campaigns at the Explorer level and above.[123]

There will be role-playing emoji such as dice rolling.[134]
